Glass Villa in Netherlands

I love modern, bright and airy. To inspire myself into my next design, I looked online for modern Netherlands architecture. The goal of this space was to achieve light, air and space, Netherlands architects Bas ten Brinke and Carina Nilsson of 70F Architecture designed this villa with a modern edge and a nod to Nordic customs and architecture traditions. Check it out:

Different Floors

Combining different kinds of floor may be a hit or miss in your kitchen and family room area. Personally, I have always like to continue with the same floors throughout the house. Although, I have to admit this kitchen looks amazing.  Hardwoods lend to a warm, cozy look while the natural stone adds a polished vibe. This kitchen, designed by Kristin Barker, mixes the two for a modern finish. Image courtesy of hgtv.com

Green Wedding

Honoring Pantone's 2013 color of the year, I went looking for some ideas for wedding decor. If you are planning to use green as your wedding color, here you will find some inspiration for your special day. Go bold, use green as accent color by itself or combine it with brown, black, purple,  white or even gold. Green will definitely be the focal point!

Pantone Color: EMERALD for 2013

If you are waiting to plan any decorating updates around Pantone's Color of the Year, the news is that is beautiful Emerald Green!
“Green is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world.
Love green, in all its shades...I have always used some kind of green around the house, in pillows, vases, candles. With Pantone's announce of the color of the year, I am looking forward to go bold with green as an accent wall on my living room or maybe on a wall in the hall. Some great ideas are here.

Many stores will carry beautiful home accessories in the emerald tone. Pantone already sells products in Emerald and other colors at pantone.com.
Be creative when using this beautiful shade of green "This jewel-like hue will create a luxurious feel in an entryway, powder room, dining room or study, and bring life to a living room as an accent wall.
Emerald green, being associated with gemstone for which it is named, is a sophisticated and luxurious choice, according to Eiseman. "It’s also the color of growth, renewal and prosperity – no other color conveys regeneration more than green. For centuries, many countries have chosen green to represent healing and unity."

Bottoms Up

Still not convinced that patterns are for you? Try decorating your living room with all solids, except the area rug. Choose a color pattern that is interesting to look at without making your space unbearable. And don't be timid when selecting the solid pieces. Commit to at least one bold hue color.

Unusual Shape

Take a look at this modern, unusually shaped house in Seattle. This bright house is 2,500 square foot and has three bedrooms, and open spaces.

You can see more pictures of the house at http://realestate.msn.com/house-or-giant-robot

Love the use of slate, wood, and glass. The beautiful use of white with pops of bold colors such as red and purple is unique.
