The Simple way to make a Fantastic cake
Since I was little, my mom has fostered in me a love for baking, and since I was old enough to work the oven all by myself, I have become the official dessert chef of my household… and of all of my friends. Over the years, I have learned how to make tiramisu, bread pudding, lemon squares and even fruit tarts. However, my love of baking started out with the most basic recipe of all: the yellow cake. I want to share with you my most coveted simple yellow cake recipe that really anyone can make:
1 box of any brand yellow cake mix
1 stick butter
1) Follow the yellow cake recipe, simply substituting the milk for the water, and the butter for the oil. However, I always add an entire stick of melted butter into the mix, since it makes the cake moister.
2) Add about a tablespoon of rum, and a teaspoon of vanilla extract to give the cake a bit of a different flavor, trust me it really does make a difference.
3) Once the cake is out of the oven, feel free to put some yummy frosting or glaze over it and enjoy!
